Production Saloons
A demonstration race for standard road-going saloon cars saw an eclectic mix of vehicles, from a giant Mercedes 600 to a tiny Fiat 500 Giardiniera, take to the track for laugh-a-minute tyre squealing action.
Gerry Birrell (Lotus 69) leads Jo Siffert (Chevron B18) whose engine has just blown up.
Graham Hill (Brabham BT36) ahead of Henri Pescarolo (March 712M).
François Cevert (Tecno 71/F2). Third in Heat 1 and fourth in the final.
Henri Pescarolo won Heat 2, but retired with engine problems in the final.
Xavier Perrot( March 712M) heads for the pits and retirement in Heat 1
Hill's Rondel Racing team mate Tim Schenken (Brabham BT36). Third in Heat 2 and fifth in the final.
Derek Bell (March 712M). Second in Heat 1 and third in the final.

Close racing for second place between Martin Thomas in the Chevrolet Camaro (#6) and the Ford Mustang Boss 302 of Dennis Leech.
Was resolved in favour of Thomas for second spot ahead of Leech in third at the flag.
Melvyn Adams' Hillman Imp. A similar Imp driven by Bill McGovern won the 1971 Championship, but DNF here due to driveshaft doughnut failure.
Juhani Kynsilehto's Imp also DNF'd after losing a rear wheel. Another doughnut failure?

Run over two 28 lap heats and a 50 lap final saw a convincing victory for Graham Hill in a Rondel Racing Brabham BT36, taking first place in both Heat 1 and the final.
